Students join us as boarders from age 10 and live in one of our four boarding houses: Brooke, Alfred, Brabourne and ASIC (Ashford School International Centre).
You can find out more about life as a boarder on our boarding pages. We offer full and weekly boarding and there are no exeats. Flexi-boarding, where you choose to board occasionally, is also possible if there are beds available.
I've made so many life-long friends from across the world through boarding at Ashford School.

We offer a special one-year course in our International Centre for children aged 15-16 which focuses on improving English but students also complete five of iGCSEs. These are English as a Second Language, Maths, Double Science and Geography. They are also given seven English as an Additional Language lessons during the two-week timetable.
Students will live and mix with pupils in the main school and, at the end of the year, should have an excellent command of English enabling them to continue at Ashford School for preparation for entry into university.
Sports, social education, co-curricular activities and meals are taken with our native English speakers and students also enjoy one lesson each of Design Technology, Art and Food Studies each week.
To apply for a place in September 2017, students must be:
UKiset is an online entrance test which looks for academic potential rather than learned knowledge. Improving your child’s English language skills is very important as the test is taken in English.
There are three sections in the test: Reasoning Skills; English Reading and Listening; writing an English essay.
Every boarder whose parents live outside the European Union must appoint a guardian who lives within three hours of the school.
Your child’s guardian will be responsible for overseeing travel and holiday arrangements, looking after your child if he/she cannot be at school, and will take a general interest in your child’s progress.
The guardian you choose must be at least 25 years old and not in full-time education. We can give you a list of guardians but we do not make any recommendations. Take a look at our policy on Guardianship (link to policy page) and visit Aegis UK to find out more about the accredited guardianship organisation.
